Their unique skill set allows them to effectively respond to various situations such as domestic emergencies, overseas combat missions, counter-drug efforts, and reconstruction missions. The Guard is known for its promptness, strength, and efficacy in upholding American values and freedoms.

As a National Guard Soldier, your primary duty station is within your home state. You may be called to action by any governor or the President on short notice. Typically, Guard Soldiers reside at home where they can remain close to loved ones and pursue civilian employment. Monthly drills are scheduled for one weekend each month, while a two-week Annual Training session occurs once per year.
